Description: DIT provides limited support for video conferncing systems owned by individual schools, faculties and departments.
Details: DIT will provide advice and verbal assistance for video conferencing systems that are owned by various schools and business units. DIT will also provide technical assistance where possible for such systems however all costs associated with operating, maintaining and upgrading such systems are borne by the relevant business unit. Units that are more than 6 years old or no longer covered under a maintenance agreement with the manufacturer or agent will need to be replaced by new equipment. DIT are not in a position to repair old equipment as spare parts of this age are no longer available. DIT are able to assist relevant business units in the short term by supplying loan equipment (if available), however, these are only available for a maximum of 2 weeks at any given time. Business units should consider budgeting for replacement equipment on an ongoing basis.
